Luis Eduardo

Luis Eduardo Paz Saavedra

Luis Eduardo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Informatics from the University of Nariño and a specialization in tertiary education teaching at the same university.  He also holds a post-graduate degree in Educational Informatics from the Metropolitan University of Technology of Chile and a Master's Degree in Multimedia Design from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Currently, he is a PhD Student in Educational Technology at the University of Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona in Spain. Luis Eduardo has been a teacher at the Bachelor's Degree in Informatics of the University of Nariño and a coordinator of the research group "Informatics, Society and Education". He has written the book entitled "Informatics and Education in Pasto" and various scientific articles and presented research results related to computer science education in conferences in Colombia and abroad. Luis Eduardo has four years of teaching experience of Preschool, Primary and Secondary Education in the area of Computer Science and fifteen years of teaching experience at the University of Nariño. His professional and academic work focuses on the role of information technology in education, as well as on the use of information and communication technologies in training courses.

  1. Computer Education: Project development related to computer science curriculum design for different levels and degrees, pedagogical models implementation research, didactics and learning assessment processes: Computer Science Curriculum; Pedagogical Models Applied to Computing; Computer Didactics; and Evaluation of the learning of Computing.
  2. Design of Computer Tools for Education: Research projects development in the field of Educational Software and Information Systems for Educational Management: Development of Educational Software; and Development of Information Systems for Educational Management.
  3. New information and communication technologies for education: constructing and applying new proposals for the implementation and evaluation of ICT for education, virtual learning environments and free software educational tools: Evaluation of ICT for Education; Implementation of ICT for Education; Virtual Learning Environments; and Free Software for Education.
  4. ICT and Society: Impact analysis of the use of information and communication technologies in our society at a regional and national level.
