Digital Sustainable Ecosystems in Education (DSEE)

Digital Sustainable Ecosystems in Education (DSEE)

PID2022-142071OB-I00

2023 - 2025

This is an empirical research proposal that aims to improve the level of development of Digital Competence (DC) of teachers and students, with an inclusive perspective, from a qualitative and interdisciplinary approach that allows the generation of strategies and models of innovation with the use of digital technologies (DT).

Its purpose is to generate new knowledge on teaching-learning processes in the educational context through the description and understanding of these processes, materialised in a Sustainable Digital Ecosystem in Education (DSEE), at all educational levels and areas. At the same time, it is directly related to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically number 4 "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all" and number 5 "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls".

In addition to generating knowledge, it includes the development of tools, guides and models that will favour training for DC development and teacher training from the perspective of the Sustainable Digital Ecosystem oriented to the educational process. This ecosystemic vision is the one that will make it possible to address the application of DT in the classroom in a more efficient way, aimed at improving learning processes and digital inclusion.

  • To analyse the relationships between the level of development of DC and the application of DT in the teaching-learning processes, for teachers and students.
  • Define the use of DT and the development of the teaching digital competence (TDD) and the DC of students based on the specificities of the different fields of knowledge (Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, Engineering and Architecture) and educational levels.
  • Design the sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystem model aimed at improving teaching-learning processes with DT.
  • Transversal objective: to organise a plan for the direction, management, dissemination and transfer of the project results.

This research is based on a qualitative approach, within a socio-critical methodology that aims to transform the educational reality by collecting data and analyzing in detail processes and strategies through different stages.
